Kohistan is the last district in the Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. After that the Northern Area begins. The high mountains of Kohistan district are very famous. The large mountain range begins at Kohistan, which extends to the high mountains of K-2 and Nanga Parbat. Beyond this the territory of China begins. Kohistan is a Urdu word meaning “area of mountains”. Kohistan is located on the Karakoram highway about 300 km north of Islamabad.

The fog of the mountains is very famous. In winter there is snow and fog. Even in summer, the mountains are often foggy. Summer evenings are very attractive in this area. The fog on the mountains serves as an air-conditioned area.
