When I was young I was always wondering whenever I would hear my mother complain about the high price of fruits. And that would be the rainy season. When I grew up I got to know that rains would somehow control the productivity of the fruit trees so there would be fewer harvest unlike during summer.
Another bad contribution of the rains to the lower harvest of fruits are the insects. Rainy season is the breeding season of insects so they ravage the young leaves of the trees. Maybe there can be a solution to that.
