Our suburban village has lots of trees planted on the sidewalk when it was developed. Those trees remained until after 40 years that the rendered the sidewalk impassable by pedestrians. Just fine with us so the residents also planted their own trees on the sidewalk that are mostly fruit trees.
They say that a fruit tree is beneficial to everyone. The owner can harvest the fruits and even passersby can also have a taste of the ripe fruits when the owner is generous. In the picture is a chesa tree that is also called Egg Fruit which is for everyone to partake.
