In lieu of visiting people, the norm now is to send something to them. When they receive food items or anything then that is considered more than a visit. It looks like delivery of food is getting very popular because of that notion.
One of our nieces is learning to bake. Whenever she had the finished product, she would call the courier and send us the cake or the cookies. It is so sweet of her to send us her product once in a while. In return, of course, we also send her something.
