I was reading up about some really strange Roman traditions and while they were all fascinating, there were too many to write about here on Virily.
Roman feasts were not a very pleasant sight. The ancient Romans ate with their hands. Wealthy citizens had special slaves, whose hands were wiped on the slave’s hair after eating. Regardless of the size of the room and the number of diners, the table was “grinding”. One cupola was separated from another by pillows and fabrics. Crowded people, warmed up with wine and food, constantly sweated and, in order not to catch a cold, covered themselves with special cloaks.
