The Transfagarasan is a paved mountain road crossing the southern side of the Carpathian Mountains in Romania. The road was built between 1970 and 1974, and is a strategic millitary road connecting the Romanian historic regions Transylvania and Wallachia. The road has a lenght of 90 km(60 mi) and is built at the altitude of 2042 meters(6699 ft)
