Hindi (8/20)

Hindi is the native language of northern India. It is a standardized and Sanskritised register of the Hindustani language. Outside India, it is an official language which is known as Fiji Hindi in Fiji, and is a recognized regional language in Mauritius, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, and Suriname.

It ranks 3rd on the 2015 survey of the most used languages around the world with over 652 million speakers.

Bandana, cheetah, guru, juggernaut, karma and a lot more are words derived from Hindi registered in an English dictionary.
