This woman is an old Kuia a very high up and highly regarded Maori woman. She is no snob yet she has mana . She wears a Moku on her chin.

I don’t like people wearing tattoos unless they have earned the right to wear them. it is like someone wearing medals or awards when they haven’t done anything to earn it. Tattoos are in my opinion only for people that show strength and good character.

This woman earned her right and there are many Maori men and woman today who have clearly earned that right.
