In the village of Kumanica, 16 km southwest of Ivanjica, towards the Golija Mountain near the old deserted stream of water, there is an old stone bridge over the Moravica River.
The old bridge across the upper stream of the river is located on an old, neglected road that is only for pedestrians and horses, who led from Ivanjica through Medjuurec through the village of Bratljevo to Sandžak. In front of and behind the bridge, the route of this old road, sharp curves and great rises, rises to the banks of Moravica.
The width of the bridge is 2.40 m, which is at the same time the width of the carriageway. The total length of the bridge with pillars is about 14 m, the size of the arched hole is 6.72 m, and the height is about 4 m.Today, this bridge is used only by pedestrians, and around it are the mountain paths, one of which leads to the village Erčege. It is impossible to determine who and when he built this bridge in the village of Kumanici, but undoubtedly it is skillfully formed and beautiful buildings, unusually lean and harmonious lines. It belongs to the type of beautiful Turkish bridges. The opening of this bridge is similar to the only preserved hole on the bridge over the river Uvac. Judging by his technique, he could be built at the same time as the bridges in Prizren, which means in the 15th century. In the tradition of this region, the bridge is called the “Roman Bridge”, although there is nothing Roman in it. Again, in view of the old road, which is the shortest link between Sandžak and Serbia, it is possible that the people have a memory of the remains of some time from Roman times, so it is assumed that in this same place there was a bridge.
