Moonbeam on the Green at Paul Smiths College

One of the beautiful classic wooden canoes out on the show field at the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) at Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondacks, was Moonbeam. Moonbeam is a very long decked courting canoe that placed the paddler very close to the passenger for romantic purposes. This one has pillows and a deck flag. The passenger got a beautiful caned wooden seat. The canoes on the Green were very close to Lower Saint Regis Lake so they could be taken out easily for a paddle.
