I Will Carry the Weight

This canoeist is carrying his wooden canoe in the traditional way on his shoulders at the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) meet in Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondacks. One of the many advantages of a wooden canoe is it can be very light in weight and therefor picked up and carried by a single person overhead and on the shoulders. Here a paddler is headed towards Lower Saint Regis Lake.
