Historic Photos of Birchbark Canoes at the Canadian Canoe Museum

At the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough Ontario Canada, they had a lot of historic exhibits. There was a display of photographs and pictures of the super large freighter Birchbark canoes famous in the exploration of Canada. They were used by fur traders and Voyageurs of the past and these images show how big these canoes could be. Many could haul over a thousand pounds of cargo down rapids and across lakes.
