By getting a DPC watchdog violation, your computer’s PC error protection will begin to kick in. These small applications are installed in the system and notify you when they detect an application that is not behaving as it should.
The Windows Performance Monitor gives you the ability to monitor this DPC application. The Windows Event Viewer can be opened and inspected by you. To see the details of the watchdog violation that the DPC does, open the event viewer and select the Error Viewer tab.

It will monitor software, as well as any files that you download from the internet. This DPC will protect your system by preventing the new software from adding additional components to your computer, without being able to run.
