There are many people who read/write your language as a second or third language. Many are not really fluent. They don’t really understand what you post and their response might be ‘off’.
If you can check the nationality of the poster, or it is included in their heading, then you have to be a bit careful when you reply.
Some use American names, as we did in the early days, to get the respect.
If someone responds to a post in a bit ‘off’ fashion, try to repeat what you said or indicate that you were joking or being sarcastic or that a specific term is used in a certain way.
Sure there are trolls who live to upset others, but some people really don’t understand and just need a bit more info.
