Living about 20 miles away from where many of the Olympics Competitions happened when Utah bought and paid to have them come may give me a different perspective than some. Most people were probably thrilled to be a part of history as the torch ran by. I was angry because I live the middle of nowhere and they block off any way for me to get out. We didn’t know why utnil 3 people and a camera crew drove by. I was late for work. I have tried to leave all those negative thoughts behind, remember the fun events that I was able to watch and get excited about this year.
Like many I am concerned about the location. I know the extreme measures they took here for safety. I can only hope they do more for the athletes and visitors there.
The last winter Olympics were held in Russia and there were concerns there was well.
Still the athletes seem to be excited and preparing. It is always fun to see people show their skills and their pride. Since I am often working I record them and watch them when I find the time. I am looking forward to the event.
