Fortunately for the Indianapolis Colts, QB Andrew Luck was healthy last season. His resurgence allowed for the Colts to experience playoff football once again. However, Indianapolis was knocked out of the playoffs by the Kansas City Chiefs. That game showed what the Colts were lacking in a couple of areas. Let’s see if Indy addressed those issues.
Round 2, Pick 2: Rock Ya-Sin, CB, Temple. 6’0″, 192 lbs. Ya-Sin has the capability to be a starting cornerback for the Colts for a long time because he is very adept at disrupting plays.
Round 2, Pick 17: Ben Banogu, DE, TCU. 6’3″, 250 lbs. Banogu will be added to the rotation as a 3rd-down pass rusher.
Round 2, Pick 27: Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State. 6’0″, 205 lbs. The Colts definitely needed a speed receiver, and Campbell fits that bill.
Round 3, Pick 26: Bobby Okereke, LB, Stanford. 6’1″, 239 lbs. The Colts look to hit the jackpot again at the linebacker position with Okereke. He’s the type of productive linebacker that does well in the Colts system.

Round 4, Pick 7: Kharl Willis, S, Michigan State. 5’11”, 213 lbs. Willis will add depth to the free safety position. Plus, he is capable to cover slot receivers as well.
Round 5, Pick 6: Marvell Tell, S, USC. 6’2″, 198 lbs. Tell also adds depth to the safety position and could help out in red zone defense against tall receivers and tight ends.
Round 5, Pick 26: E.J. Speed, LB, Tartleton State. 6’3″, 227 lbs. Since the Colts have plenty of picks in this draft, they decided to take a flyer on a prospect in Speed. He will probably be placed on the practice squad.
Round 6, Pick 27: Gerri Green, DE, Mississippi, State, 6’4″, 252. Green will add pass-rushing depth either at DE or OLB.
Round 7, Pick 26: Jackson Barton, T, Utah. 6’7″, 310 lbs. Barton will add depth to the tackle position.
Round 7, Pick 32: Javon Patterson, C, Mississippi. 6’3″, 307 lbs. Patterson will add interior line depth as he played at center and at guard in college.
Grade: The Colts’ three biggest issues were pass-rushing, secondary help, and a speed receiver. Indianapolis was able to address all three of those situations. Now, the team can really focus on Colts owner Jim Irsay doing less drugs this upcoming season. I give the Colts a B-.
