1st ODI At Mumbai: India Sets A Target Of 281 For New Zealand

First One Day International of the 3-match-series between India and New Zealand is underway right now, with India’s innings already completed and the visitors, who were given a target of 281 runs to win; seem to be in trouble right away. At the end of over number 14, Kiwis have already lost 2 wickets with only 67 runs on the board.

Highlight of the Indian innings was current captain Virat Kohli’s superb hundred, and if the other batsmen struggled, Kohli carried along nicely and managed to score his 31st hundred in limited overs cricket. When it comes to India playing at their home ground, 280 for the loss of 8 wickets certainly looks par below by Indian standards.

However, apparently it looks New Zealand batsmen may not find it that easy to chase even anything below 300, owing to the fact that India’s spin attack is likely to make life very, very difficult at the crease for the visitors. But then again, as long as Martin Guptil and the seasoned campaigner Ross Taylor are at the crease; anything can be possible!

Update: Martin Guptil just got out for 32; leaving his side struggling for 82 for 3 now (while in 18th over)
