When walking on the Boreal Life Trail at the Paul Smith’s College Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) in the Adirondacks, you tend to look at the mountains in the distance or the vast sphagnum moss marsh or the tall conifer trees, but down on the forest floor there are many small and beautiful plants.
