The state of Idaho in the U.S. has many wonderful natural wonders. The state is known for its rugged landscape and the Sawtooth Mountains are part of the Rocky Mountains. There are peaks that rise over 10,000 feet high. Idaho is home to the mighty Snake River which has created many deep valleys as it makes its way through the state.

The Snake River has also created gorges and North America’s deepest gorge called Hell’s Canyon. The canyon goes down 7,900 feet. Its name comes from the fact that anyone going on the river at this point is in for one wild trip.
