Good Morning – Our living Residents in Bucklands Beach

Pat was a small baby 3-4 months ago, and now he is almost an adult Pukako his eyes are not fully red and his beak will soon turn as red as the rest of it.

Pat has a small shriek but soon will be an eerie full blown yell like his or her parents. 

A mother duck with 3 Ducklings, well, they are teenagers. The Duck keeps them in line and they obey her commands..

Slightly bigger than a Sparrow, I found this bird in Mooneys Creek. We live next door.

I did not want these, their droppings are left on the roof but they come any way.

Since their visits, I cant help liking them, and they come on Mass. 

Pat’s father in our bird bath, or one of them. Full blown Pukako.

Not too many of these around the place for good reason. Pukakos eat them and give them to their young. Pukakos are brutal and you cant stop them.

Every now and then I change the water, I put plenty of water around the lawn for any bird to drink and as you can see birds of all types can enjoy the pools..
