Mamula Island-Fortress, Montenegro, SERBIA
At the entrance to the Bay of Kotor, between Cape Oštro and Luštica, there is a natural gem in the middle of the sea, a military-strategic key link of defense, the historical island of “pride and sorrow” – Swallow. In 1853, Austro-Hungary built the Mamula Fortress on the island of Lastavica, which, together with the Arza Fortress and the Prevlaka Fortress, was intended to prevent the French from entering the bay.
