While walking around the quaint town of Madison, Georgia I came across this gas light post with glass globe in front of some classic houses. This Theodore P. Austin lamp was the first and only gas lamp in Madison and was originally made by the US Stamping Co. The Springfield Gas Generator company provided the gas to individual homes throughout the South. It was historically restored and relit in 1969.
The gas lamp is like the one I saw in the Isle of Wight in the UK. It gives a rustic look to the place.
