Too Late (Pamela) – 2

Malcolm never questioned nor disobeyed his mother.

Although he was twenty, he had always lived with his mother.  Beyond his mother and his job he had no  outside life.

He didn’t have friends because  those he met were average twenty year olds, loud mouthed and into music and girls and whatever, and his mother wouldn’t approve.

Malcom would do nothing to upset his mother in any way, and worked for her approval.

If last week Pamela was their most frequent visitor, and this week the door would be shut as she passed,  he didn’t question.

His mother, perhaps to take the edge off said;  “She’s not who we thought she was.”

Malcolm nodded and went back to clearing the table.
