The Supreme Court of India has excluded the process of sexual intercourse with another person in addition to the partner of ‘Adultian’ or ‘Married’ person in the country, from the crime scene. The Supreme Court said in its verdict against the 158-year-old law, ‘Husband is not the owner of the woman’. As soon as this decision came to Indian, they started doing the Hash Tag’ Adult Trend.
Journalist abhijit wrote in his tweet :
Excellent judgment. #Adultery is ground for divorce but is not a criminal offence. Fine to end marriage contract because one started loving someone else, but how could a consensual love affair be a criminal offence?
Another prudish Victorian-era colonial law scrapped. #Section497— Abhijit Majumder (@abhijitmajumder) September 27, 2018
Politician Kavita Krishnan wrote in her tweet :-
Decriminalising of #Adultery is welcome and long overdue. Adultery is now grounds for divorce not crime. The law criminalising men for relations with some other man's wife was patriarchal, assumes wife is husband's property and has no autonomy. Good riddance #AdulteryVerdict

What is RSS's opinion on this? #Adultery
They must be very worried. Decriminalizing homosexuality, adultery are going to make institutions of family, marriage, sex, love, bodily integrity gender equal. Not a good thing for far right religious nationalism.— Sanjukta Basu (@sanjukta) September 27, 2018
Amit Lakhani Wrote in his tweet –
If #Adultery which certainly subjects the spouse to emotional and mental cruelty is not an offence to be punished then other mental and emotional cruelties within spouses may also be left only as grounds for divorce. Why not decriminalizing them.
