Valley Snobs

I used to work for a sandwich shop in mission valley, about 17 years ago.  I was on the bus one day, on my way to work, when I started a random conversation, with a random girl, like I always do.  She proceeded to describe the worst boss on earth.  She said that her boss Van, had fired her on her day off.  Then she said she was suing him.

He had violated California labor law, which states, that you cannot fire anyone on their day off.  I asked her where she worked.  To my surprise, she worked at the same place I did!!

As soon as I got to work, I proceeded to quit.  What I didn’t know, was that my boss was so bad, that he hadn’t even entered me into the pay roll.  I thought he would tell me to wait for my last check.  Instead, he got all nervous, started to sweat, and went right into the safe.  He paid me with cash!!  He actually overpaid me by about $13 dollars.

Naturally, I didn’t tell him.  I had only been there for a few weeks, and thank God, I had bumped into that girl, who filled me in on every detail I had to know, to make the best decision for myself.

That job was so bad, that on a regular basis we got what I liked to call, the, “Valley snobs.”  The people who would wait to tell you that you forgot a topping, only after you wrapped up their sub.  Those kids of individuals will end up in a special place in hell, selected just for them.

It was such a long time ago, you must think.  Yes, it was.  However, this doesn’t change the fact that in this story, they are still just jerks who wish they could understand me when I call them, “pinchi pendejos.”
