Osip Mandelstam

On this day in 1891 in Warsaw was born the great Russian writer Osip Mandelstam. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Pavlovsk, near St Petersburg, and then in Petersburg alone. In St. Petersburg he went to Teniševsku prestigious school where he loved poetry, music and theater and wrote his first song. He studied at the Sorbonne and continued in Heidelberg and at all times the study says. Upon his return to St. Petersburg it was clear to devote his life to literature. After returning from exile him and Nadezhda were forbidden to live in Moscow and Leningrad.

In May 1938 it again arrested, deported to Siberia and in the transit camp near Vladivostok died 27/12/1938. His name was forbidden to mention 20 years. In the late 20th and early 21st century were erected monuments to him in Moscow, Vladivostok and Voronezh. In the Serbian language translated it Branko Miljkovic, Danilo Kis, Stevan Raickovic .. a poem in which he ridiculed the Soviet regime and Stalin himself, he was arrested in 1934 and sent to a three-year exile in Voronezh.
