Having witnessed Lynn lose all focus because of her infatuation with a boy, I learned a ‘life lesson.’ This ‘life lesson’ taught me that inter-personal relationships are distractions.
I set about having dozens of casual friends, becoming involved in many extra-curricula activities. This prevented everyone and everything from interfering in my ambition.
I went through school without a single real date. There were get togethers and casual functions. I’d pop in a bit late, or extra early with a bunch of friends, and leave within an hour or so.
My life, outside of Academia was a meaningless potpourri, like looking out the window of speeding train and seeing the trees and towns pass by without making any connection.
I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to be when I left school, so had all sorts of possibilities and alternatives.
