History of Neal Preserve Bradenton

We are walking around Neal Preserve on the far West side of Bradenton, Florida. This area was explored with a grant in the 1930’s of the Civil Works Administration under Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal. This grant was also under the Smithsonian Institute to study the Induan Mounds and burial grounds here of the Native Americans. You can still see several areas of shell mounds where the boardwalks take you close.
