Coal

This quote translates to: “They watch you, they criticize you, they envy you, and in the end, they imitate you.”

If this has every happened to you, the sad part is, these individuals can’t see why. They don’t know why they criticize you, the first chance they get. They don’t even realize they are watching your every move.

Then they start to envy you. They don’t realize what they are doing, so, they don’t know how this affects how they feel about you.

It’s almost as if they think it’s your fault that they feel so bad about themselves.

They can be anyone. They can a group of your so-called friends, or they can be your co-workers. If they are members of your family, it’s even worse. These feelings that they foster, have a tendency to get toxic, and insidious.

So, if you start playing the flute in elementary school, they will try to out shine you, by taking up the violin suddenly. They should have started with the flute.

What they don’t realize is that the violin is as difficult to master as the piano. Naturally, they find out the hard way.

It’s almost as if they are incapable of having an original thought. This annoys me.

Most people would feel flattered. I don’t. They see me as a piece of coal. I’m really a diamond.
