What does it mean to really be a teacher?  Teaching is a profession that is looked upon as an easy job but a lot of people think that it the easiest job because whoever teaches has books with all the answers. These people do not know how hard it is to plan lessons, activities and do various clerical skills, as in collecting lunch money or even making sure permission slips are collected when necessary, and trying to do several other duties as well.  Teachers have to also know some medical issues like various allergies as well as how to handle all kinds of discipline problems.  Teachers must also keep up various technologies to improve their students motivation and achievement to progress to each grade level.

One way to describe teachers is with this one word -multi-taskers-one who must attempt to do things in groups of two or more.  For example, teachers while writing on the blackboard or now-a-days a smart board will need to keep eyes on the class as well and if any unnecessary behaviors occurs they will know what kind of reinforcement will be needed to handle that particular behavior. This is also a profession that allows for some freedom for the teacher, but they also need to follow federal and state laws to make sure that the students progress and if the students do not progress all the stakeholders from the administrators to the teachers to the parents and even the students will affect the monies that their school needs for various programs to promote education and learning how to be a cooperative and productive adult.
