After a year of marriage Paula realised she was pregnant. She informed the producer.
It was decided to fast pace a romance between Freddie and one of the regulars. The public liked the couple so the marriage was televised, the young couple given more camera time. By this time Paula was showing so it was decided Freddie and her husband would take a long honeymoon.
After Paula had the baby, she returned to the show.
The high point was Freddie’s return.
As Freddie had to be filled in on events that transpired during her absence, this allowed a rehash for the viewers. Pre-recorded footage was rerun.
The beauty of this rehash was that viewers who had missed scenes would get to see them, and hear how other characters saw the event and their spin on it.
