Paul bought a house as an investment in the names of himself and his wife.
The house had gone cheaply, as it needed some work. Kushi’s brother and cousins claimed to be able to do everything.
Paul gave them the go ahead.
They moved into the house, along with Kushi’s mother, and Paul felt as if he were a great benefactor.
He liked the fact that Kushi’s family was in his house, taking care of it, preventing him from having to hire workmen.
And soon, he had another member of his family, his first child, a daughter. Kushi named her Priya.
Paul didn’t object, didn’t even offer a middle name.
