Scamming the Scammer

Ann, needful of attention,  tried to befriend Theresa.

Theresa’s usual method was to make a person feel prized, then, without any warning,  attack.

As there was no one renting the other room,   Theresa depended on Ann’s rent. Being  nice to Ann would make sense.  But Theresa and sense did not fit in the same paragraph.

Theresa turned on Ann about a week into her tenancy.  Ann fought to regain Theresa’s favour.

If Ann were not unbalanced and had spent her life playing some ridiculous ‘child of the universe’  role, she would withdraw from Theresa.  However, making everyone ‘like’ her (or allowing her to interpret that people liked her) was key to her existence so she had to keep trying.

While this drama played in the front rooms, Gavin, in the back, decided to quit his job, leave the area and move back in with his mother.
