Often Abusers use money as a lure. They find someone who is at the edge of poverty and throw money at them.
Once a victim becomes ‘accustomed’ to buying what they want, not what is cheapest, the Abuser has power over them.
The idea that they will be returned to poverty is so powerful the Victim cuts and pastes their persona to stay in the trap.
The Abuser ‘owns’ them.
S/he can get them to do whatever required.
Although the Victim might not want to ignore friends, relocate, change appearance or outlook, the thought of losing the financial support keeps them in chains.
