Jason and I met as babies, went to pre-school together, then primary. We had spent a lot of time together. We it was just as First Grade ended that Jason left town.
When I asked my mother where Jason was she told me that his mother had gotten a better job somewhere else so left.
She didn’t know the address. She told me she didn’t think Jason was coming back.
Other kids would leave the school or the town, so it wasn’t such a big phenomenon that someone moved away.
I had other friends and continued to go to the same Primary, then to a Junior High School where some kids I knew went, and some didn’t.
