More focus needs to be placed on Emotional Intelligence. Society has to realise that measuring achievement by how high a grade one gets or how many subjects one passes, isn’t enough.
One can go into University, graduate, gain a Masters and Ph.D and be unable to get and hold a job, have difficulty in relationships, and fall for scams, simply because what is called ‘common sense’ is lacking.
The emotionally intelligent knows how to navigate society, how to talk to people, how to present themselves to gain the most benefit.
They don’t dictate, they don’t ridicule, they don’t make others feel inferior. People follow their instructions because they want to. People listen to them because they want to, not because they have to.
