When Emily came to the firm she met the Senior Counsel, Associates as well as the other newbies, the paralegals and office staff.
What became the talking point for the Newbies was meeting the Para-legals. Where Martin and Jordon stopped what they were doing when introduced, making eye contact, Lily was unique.
She kept her back to Emily and her group, hunting for something on her desk, telling Mrs. Samuels, the office manager, who was doing the tour, that she was ‘too busy’ to stop.
When Lily left the room, the newbies glanced at each other and laughed, because they had met the Senior Counsels, famous lawyers, who could put down the phone or the pen and greet them.
One of the Attorneys the group met was Mike McGregor. He had only been at the firm five years. He was attractive, had a happy personality, a good sense of humour. He was the kind of young lawyer recent grads would want to work with.
