Yesterday I went out to water the garden. I had my small camera with me. This skipper butterfly was on the butterfly bush. Actually there were four or five in all. This one kept coming around me. He landed on my hand but of course I could not get the camera out to catch the photo. That was very special. Thank you to Dustin for that moment. These skippers are very common and I see lots of them in August. It seems the hotter the temperatures the more I see.
Sharing with Kim’s August challenge. Details are here if you would like to join in on the fun: Flora and Fauna.
Most of my photos fall within the challenge for the month making it easier to share to her challenge. If you look closely you can see his curled up tongue. He is going after the nectar on the tiny blooms. Nature is so cool. If you only have a few moments, slow worn, pause and enjoy what you can. It is so worth it.

These skippers look smart and somehow alert to moves..lol
They are very smart and skipper is a good name for them, they skip and jump very easily.
Great photo! Very nice capture 🙂
Thank you Courtney, it was so cool to watch him so close.
Sounds like a very nice time, I am glad 🙂
Yes I really enjoy the garden this time of the year. Not the weather but the garden.
Once again my tags have disappeared. Where oh where have they all gone. :(:(:(
