This festival celebrates the oyster season on the Chesapeake Bay and recognizes the fishermen who spend their lives working the waters. Over 150,000 oysters are eaten at the two-day festival. To shuck them a special knife is used, Among the events is the National Oyster Shucking Championship. Oysters can be eaten raw or cooked.
