When an employee complains about another employee and you DON’T ask that other employee, you have made an enemy.
As previously mentioned, many employees who commit breaches, misdirect attention to another.
While one focuses on that other, they have carte blanche.
Many steal. Because you have been misdirected to watch Joan, Odette, the ‘informant’, is filling her pockets.
When you receive a complaint simply nod. Then privately, speak to the employee complained about in general terms. See if you pick up any guilt any discomfort.
If the employee thinks you really came down to discuss Manchester United, then obviously, you have been misdirected.
This ‘sleight of hand’ is how so many business are ripped off.
