NEVER GIVE AN ABUSER A SECOND CHANCE – part 13

Sara, Norman’s  first wife, the recipient of his abuse; from emotional to spiritual to verbal to physical knew, before she left home, that putting herself at Norman’s mercy was dangerous.

Yet.

Over the four decades of their separation, she had become something of an expert in Domestic Violence.   She was almost certain that her comprehension of Norman would make her capable of facing him.

Although perhaps dangerous, she was not giving him a second chance.  She had to be in town,  everyone knew where she was.

She knew that he would deny her anything she claimed to want,   She knew that he would try to provoke a response from her.

All she had to do was not respond to him, and he’d fail at provocation.

Although I would never recommend anyone take the risks that Sara did, her experience confirms the fact that Abusers Never Change.

Forty years ago Sara walked out on Norman because of his abuse.

The same traits that ran her forty years ago existed today.
