Medical Issues

I don’t normally have any health related issues to deal with. For the past couple of months though, I have been having heart palpitations, periods when I have an irregular heartbeat.

I had many tests, including two EKG’s, two different types of heart monitor, and a heart ultrasound, or ECHO. Nothing was found to be wrong either electrically or structurally. My doctor did detect the irregular beats on the Holter monitor, so he assured me it wasn’t “all in my head”.

However, he still doesn’t have an explanation for it. He gave me Lopressor to take as needed, when I feel that the palpitations are too much. It does work to calm down the palpitations when they are alarmingly irregular. Lopressor is known for causing nausea and dizziness, but luckily I haven’t had that experience from it.

I wish I knew what was causing the palpitations. My doctor wants me to quit smoking and drinking coffee to be on the safe side. I have been trying to do that since January.
