WORDS are your ARROW to cut a path to the SKY
13 May 2016 in Literature
TOSS IT IN THE CORNER
frowned the SKY
AS MY MANUSCRIPT
tried to SNEAK BY
TOO many writers and poets
LUMBAR AND CLUMBER
before an audience
never SHY.
SUCH DULL WORDS lazy phrases,
idioms lost in HAZES.
A POEM must BURN
in the MIND
NOT TURN
and RUN THE READER AWAY.
EVEN MOSES chose his
WORDS LIKE HERDS
of horned monsters
that FORCED the PHAROAH
to CRY
BEGONE WITH YOUR PEOPLE
or you SURELY SHALL DIE.
WORD ARE YOUR ARROWS
that PUT DOWN
A PATH in the SKY
