Touring around the Lightner Museum in Saint Augustine, Florida we see lots of varieties of art. Here is a very large reverse painted panel of glass. This is of a state of the art train at the time and was painted on the reverse side of a plate of glass. Layers were built up from the back with the last layer being reflective gold and silver leaf which beautifully reflects the light.
It is an interesting and effective technique that was known in medieval times to the creators of painted glass in church windows and icons in the Orthodox Church.
