Grace Paid

With some sheepish smile

she took steps

that were out

out of the milling crowds

clapping for the designer

who had stolen her dress

designed and perfected by her

a staff of her crew had betrayed

and given the map to the rival

with a $100000 prize

and fame much more

she reveled in her glory

as she delved in dark

lamenting the loss

but never did she step ahead

and speak a word of protest

a week later

on some issues of internal squabble

market journals screamed of theft

a redo of the awards were held

she was restored glory

for her hard work

her grace had paid off

she was still silent

in the glory of honesty

having won

and she reaped

rich rewards

disproportionate

as culprits

wallowed in reverse!
