Celebrity Photographer Provides Photography Tips

Friday, May 18, 2018

At 7 pm, I checked out a Photo Gallery Show at the Canon Experience Center. The featured guest is Celebrity Photographer, Armando Gallo. He displayed photographs of many celebrities, and they each looked very natural and relaxed, better than when the media photographs them in magazines. He is a journalist with an architecture degree. He came to America in 1975 and he also founded a magazine. I think he is Italian.

He talked about photographing what you love. It is important to quickly take a photograph of the person before they start to pose. In order to get the person to be nature, relaxed and themselves in photographs, you need to connect with each person who you photograph by chatting with them to make them feel comfortable. He also talked about his red carpet experience, photographing many celebrities by telling stories about his experiences with different celebrities during the 60s, 70s, and 80s.  He liked working with all the celebrities because they were cool. But he thought Bruce Willis and David Bowie were a little hard to work with. Some of the celebrities he mentioned were Peter Gabriel, George Clooney, Madonna, Beattles, U2, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, Penelope Cruz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Marilyn Manson, Freddie Mercury, Tilda Swinton, Blondie, Johnny Depp, Phil Collins, Roger Moore, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence, and many others….

I left at 9 pm, and drove home on peaceful and quiet streets, although there were still cars on the streets.

I added two videos from YouTube about Armando Gallo.
