Albert Weir Sculpture at the Museum of Fine Arts

This wooden sculpture in cherry was by Albert Wein (1915-1991). It was entitled “Horizons” and made in 1937 just as America was getting out of the great depression.  The massively proportioned but graceful female figure may have represented the strength of the American people as they left the tumult of the bad economic time. At the St Pete Museum of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
