Old Mill at the Great Smoky Mountains

  • Just outside of the Oconaluftee Visitor Center near the North Carolina entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is a quaint old Mill that is still functioning. There is a very long sluice that diverts water from a nearby stream and ingeniously carries it to the wheel of the Mill. Here you can see both the raised sluice and the long winding canal from the stream so the water go make it to the Mill.
