While visiting the museum at the Madison Morgan Cultural Center they had a very large display of one of the rooms complete with furniture from the famous Boxwood Mansion. Walking down the many side streets in Madison, I came upon this house with the prominent sign on the gate saying “Boxwood“. This was the back side of the house and the gardens were just full of boxwood pathways. They were in the process of being trimmed as they were very overgrown to the point you could barely see the antebellum house. This house was built in 1851.
I always try to visit a museum when we go abroad.
