I have to give credit where credit is due with Wheat Middle School seventh grade student Paige Cook.
Paige started her campaign to collect at least seven pencils for every teacher in the Cleburne Independent School District since for same strange reason, the school board could not afford to purchase pencils for both the students and teachers at the school that started just before the Christmas holiday break.Paige used the power of social media with the assistance of her mother Angie Cook for donations from anyone around the world so Paige could have pencils to be given to her teachers as well as the students.
The project was so successful that more than 40,000 pencils have been donated to Cleburne Independent School District so all of the teachers can have pencils that will be given to the students who for some strange reason, did not bring a pencil of their own from home to the classroom.
Angie credits her teachers at Wheat Middle School for teaching her to be kind to other students and teachers as well as her mother who is raising her to learn to assist others without any expectation of any rewards at that time.
The reward for her generosity is that the Prudential insurance company presented Paige with a volunteer spirit award in January 2019 after the campaign ended on January 8, 2019 when the students returned from their Christmas vacation in 2018.
It is proven that good intentions and good deeds often give goodness.
That is true since Paige has admitted that despite her physical handicap, she is treated with kindness by her teachers. She wants to repay them for their kindness.
Paige is one person who is thankful that her teachers have showered her with love and teaching her to do what will make people around her happy.
How humane this young man is.
